Role Overview: Mastering Character Animation in Production
As an Animation Intern at EA Firemonkeys, you will work hand-in-hand with our Animation Director and senior artists to develop your skills in character animation, asset setup, and pre-production workflows. Your core responsibility is to create polished, highly charismatic in-game animations that breathe personality into human and animal characters alike.
You won’t just be pushing keyframes; you will be immersed in the full production cycle. From building 3D model proxy meshes and basic rigging structures for early pre-production, to iterating rapidly on gameplay sequences based on directorial feedback, you will learn how to align your artistic execution with the established SFP studio style. You will also collaborate closely with content and external outsourcing teams, gaining invaluable insight into large-scale game production pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Create key-framed animation applying core principles (human/animal characters).
- Build 3D model proxy meshes and basic rigs for pre-production.
- Iterate on sequences based on feedback to meet SFP style.
- Collaborate with content and outsourcing teams.
Requirements (Mandatory)
- Must be a recent 2025 graduate.
- Available for the full 12-month contract.
- Proficiency in Maya or equivalent 3D software.
- Experience with pose-to-pose key-framed animation.
- Basic understanding of Animation Principles and Body Mechanics.
- Commitment to the hybrid work model (min. 4 days in office).
