Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly organized 2D Production Coordinator to support our Line Producer, Production Manager, and fellow production coordinators. This role is essential to maintaining efficient operations across both production and post-production departments.
You will apply strong planning, tracking, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure the smooth flow of work through our production pipeline. You will collaborate with multiple departments to identify bottlenecks, reduce disruptions, and support teams throughout the entire production process.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Post-Production Support
- Assist the production management team with planning, tracking, and maintaining schedules across departments.
- Coordinate and verify the transfer, setup, and organization of production assets from layout through compositing.
Episode & Asset Management
- Break down episode animatics into actionable tasks for departments such as Animation and FX.
- Prepare episode handoff materials to ensure smooth transitions between departments.
- Track and monitor department progress, ensuring deliverables for 2D Animation, 2D FX, and 3D Animation remain on schedule.
Database & Workflow Coordination
- Maintain accurate data in production management tools to ensure clarity for both artists and leadership.
- Participate in production meetings and dailies, take detailed notes, and convert them into actionable tasks.
- Coordinate information flow between supervisors, directors, and departments to maintain consistent direction.
Problem Solving & Workflow Optimization
- Forecast schedules and deadlines proactively.
- Identify and assist in resolving issues related to problematic shots, assets, or files.
- Work with Leads, Supervisors, and Directors to meet project goals on time.
- Assist in refining tools, workflows, and pipelines to improve production efficiency.
Qualifications
Required
- Ability to work Los Angeles/Vancouver business hours.
- Experience coordinating or managing long-form 2D animation projects.
- Understanding of both animation and shipping pipelines.
- Proficiency with production tools such as Google Suite, Asana, Figma, Harmony, and ShotGrid.
- Strong critical thinking, independence, and initiative.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Problem-solving ability and a proactive mindset.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with 2D software including Storyboard Pro, Harmony, After Effects, and Premiere.
- Self-motivated with an interest in optimizing workflows and increasing team efficiency.
Bonus Skills
- Understanding of internet and gaming culture.
- Background in animation.
- Experience with 3D layout and animation.
