Lead Technical Artist – Unity3D (Fully Remote / Permanent) Studio: Beffio StudioLocations: Warsaw, Poland | Madrid, Spain | Berlin, Germany (Fully Remote)Salary: USD $4K–6K / monthEmployment Type: Permanent | Remote About the Role Beffio Studio is looking for a Lead Technical Artist to take charge of our technical art pipelines across multiple projects. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will combine technical expertise with creative insight to support artists, optimize workflows, and push real-time visuals to the next level. You will lead a small team of technical artists, define production standards, and collaborate with Art Directors, Tech Leads, and Producers to ensure Beffio’s projects maintain high-quality visuals and performance. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys solving complex challenges, improving efficiency, and innovating artistic workflows in a fully remote environment. Key Responsibilities Lead the Technical Art Vision: Define and maintain the studio’s technical art standards. Ensure all projects meet visual quality and technical performance goals. Pipeline Innovation: Build and optimize production pipelines to improve efficiency and automate repetitive tasks. Integrate procedural systems and workflows using Houdini for Unity3D and Unreal Engine. Tool Development: Create custom in-house tools, scripts, and utilities using C#, Python, HLSL to support artists. Develop shaders and materials with Shader Graph, Amplify, or HLSL for complex real-time effects. Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with Art, Engineering, and Production teams to align technical solutions with creative vision. Performance Optimization: Ensure all assets and scenes are optimized for target platforms without sacrificing visual quality. Mentorship & Leadership: Guide and support technical artists, fostering growth and maintaining high standards. Lead R&D initiatives to explore emerging technologies, real-time workflows, and procedural techniques. Requirements Experience: 6+ years as a Technical Artist, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role. Engine Expertise: Strong knowledge of Unity3D (URP, HDRP, SRP); familiarity with Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5) is a plus. Procedural Workflows: Experienced in Houdini for procedural generation and pipeline automation. Scripting & Tools: Proficient in C#, HLSL, Python for creating production tools and shaders. 3D Art Understanding: Solid grasp of 3D production, asset integration, optimization, lighting, and rendering pipelines. Version Control: Experience with Git, Perforce, or similar systems. Communication: Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills. Language: Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Bonus Skills Experience with real-time VFX systems (Niagara, VFX Graph). Knowledge of machine learning or procedural AI-driven art workflows. Background in 3D modeling, texturing, or shader creation.
