Key Responsibilities
- Simulation & Effects: Create high-quality simulations for cloth, hair, fur, and muscle systems on creatures and characters.
- Pipeline Integration: Build and refine dynamic, production-ready setups using Houdini and/or Maya.
- Collaboration: Partner with Animation, Rigging, and CG departments to ensure seamless character performance.
- Quality Control: Iterating on creative and technical feedback to maintain world-class visual standards across sequences.
Required Skills & Experience
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Houdini and/or Maya, specifically within CFX workflows.
- Foundational Knowledge: A solid grasp of modeling, rigging, and animation principles as they relate to simulations.

The Role: CFX Artist
We are currently seeking talented Character Effects (CFX) Artists across all experience levels to join our dynamic team. Whether you are a seasoned veteran with a decade of simulation experience or a rising star looking to make your mark on high-end feature films, RSP provides a platform for growth and technical mastery.
In this role, you are the bridge between the static rig and the final, living character. You will be responsible for the “physics of the soul”—the way a hero’s cape catches the wind, how a creature’s muscles ripple beneath its skin, and the realistic flow of hair in a high-speed chase. You will help bring complex simulations to life through production-ready setups that are both creatively stunning and technically robust.

- Duration: These are initially 6-month contracts, but RSP has a strong history of retaining talent. For those who excel, there are frequent opportunities for contract extensions and permanent staff positions.
- Flexible Working: We offer a Hybrid model for those located in Adelaide or Brisbane, allowing for a mix of studio-based collaboration and the comfort of home. For highly experienced artists, fully remote opportunities within Australia are available.
- Commencement: Contracts begin in June 2026. However, we are currently in a high-growth phase and have several positions available for an immediate start if you are currently available.
- Relocation Support: For the right candidates moving to Adelaide or Brisbane, RSP may offer assistance to help you transition to these vibrant Australian cities.
