🎬 Animator – Soho VFX
📍 Location: Toronto, Canada
Soho VFX, a leading visual effects studio in Toronto, is looking for a talented Animator to join our growing team. Work on exciting projects alongside a collaborative team of artists in a creative and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Animate characters and props in line with the Director’s vision using Maya.
- Gather and reference materials from multiple sources to ensure high-quality animation.
- Attend sequence launches and dailies to understand project requirements and implement revisions.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with support from key stakeholders.
- Experience with tracking software (PFTrack, Boujou) and rendering engines (Renderman, 3Delight) is a plus.
- Work well under deadlines, take direction positively, and contribute effectively in a team environment.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Canadian Resident.
- 3+ years of CG animation experience (feature film experience preferred) with strong animation skills.
- Post-secondary education in 3D animation or related field.
- Proficient in CG Animation software, especially Maya.
- Strong foundation in anatomy, perspective, composition, and drawing is an asset.
- Solid understanding of animation principles: timing, posing, acting, and storytelling.
- Strong creative problem-solving abilities and openness to feedback.
