About the Role
Rodeo FX is looking for a Senior FX Artist who can create high-quality visual effects and simulations for film and episodic productions. bengaluru jobs
You will work mainly in Houdini to create effects such as:
- Fire
- Smoke
- Explosions
- Fluids
- Destruction
- Magical effects
- Abstract effects
- Other complex simulations
You will work closely with FX and CG supervisors, production teams, and artists from other departments to create effects that look realistic, work efficiently within the pipeline, and match the creative direction of each project.
What You Will Do
1. Create High-Quality FX
- Create complex simulations including smoke, fire, explosions, fluids, destruction, and abstract effects.
- Use Houdini for Pyro, FLIP, RBD, Vellum, and SOP-based workflows.
- Work independently on assigned FX shots from setup through final delivery.
- Make sure scenes, caches, and work files are clean and ready for submission.
- Follow the artistic and technical standards of the project.
2. Add Creative Value
- Find simple and effective solutions to achieve the required visual result.
- Participate in daily reviews and apply feedback from supervisors.
- Make sure effects match the story, visual style, timing, and mood of the scene.
- Improve shots by adding creative and visually interesting simulations.
3. Maintain Technical Quality
- Optimize simulations and caches to keep scenes efficient.
- Build stable and reliable Houdini setups.
- Follow the studio’s technical standards and pipeline requirements.
- Identify technical problems and find practical solutions.
- Work with the Pipeline team when new tools or workflows need to be tested.
- Make sure FX work works correctly with Layout, Lighting, Rendering, and Compositing departments.
4. Communicate With the Team
- Provide realistic estimates for assigned work.
- Inform Production and Leads early about technical problems or possible delays.
- Work closely with Production, FX Leads, Supervisors, and other artists.
- Clearly communicate technical limitations, requirements, and project issues.
- Participate in turnovers, briefings, dailies, and progress reviews.
5. Learn and Share Knowledge
- Keep up with new FX techniques, workflows, and industry practices.
- Share useful techniques, tools, and knowledge with other artists.
- Help improve FX workflows and documentation.
- Be open to feedback and continuously improve your work.

Essential Skills ::
- 5+ years of professional experience as an FX Artist in a VFX studio.
- Experience working on high-end feature films and/or episodic productions is preferred.
