The Senior 2D Animator at Top Draw Animation is a specialized visual artist responsible for creating the extensive series of images that form the foundation of our high-end TV and movie productions. In this role, you function as the digital actor of the production pipeline. You are not simply “moving assets”; you are interpreting scripts and storyboards to create expressive, nuanced performances that resonate with global audiences.
Within (Top Draw Animation) TDA’s collaborative ecosystem, our animators concentrate on high-impact areas such as Character Acting, Dynamic Key Posing, and sophisticated “Tweening” based on the specific parameters set by our international clients. 1. Performance and Artistic Execution
Character Interpretation: Interpret and depict a wide range of acting and action scenes. You must understand the subtext of a scene to provide a performance that feels organic and purposeful.
Style Mastery: Understand and follow complex instructions from Team Leaders or Directors to maintain the show’s specific style. Whether the project requires “snappy” comedic timing or fluid, cinematic realism, you must adapt your technique to match.
High-Quality Output: Create top-tier animations utilizing a mix of traditional animation principles (squash and stretch, anticipation, staging) and modern digital software efficiency.
2. Technical Workflow and Software Management
Rig Optimization: Work with complex character rigs in Toon Boom Harmony, utilizing master controllers and node view structures effectively to achieve maximum expressiveness.
Symbol Management: In Adobe Animate CC, manage symbol libraries and frame-by-frame overrides to ensure clean, fluid movement without “pops” or technical glitches.
Pipeline Integrity: Ensure that all assigned tasks are published correctly within the studio pipeline, meeting the required technical specifications for the compositing and lighting departments.
