The Role: The Foundation of VFX

Rotoscoping is the unsung hero of the VFX pipeline. As a Roto Artist at Singarajan VFX, you will be responsible for creating the precise mattes that allow our compositing team to place characters and objects into new environments. Your work provides the critical mask layers that ensure shots look perfect, fluid, and entirely natural.

This role requires a unique blend of patience, focus, and technical skill. You will spend your days working closely with plates to trace shapes, track movement, and ensure that every edge is sharp, clean, and motion-blurred correctly. You are the gatekeeper of image quality, and your precision is what ensures that our final shots meet the industry’s highest expectations for realism.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily contributions will be vital to the success of our production pipeline. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Precise Matte Creation: Executing high-quality rotoscoping for complex shots, including human characters, hair, clothing, and intricate objects.
• Edge Quality Assurance: Delivering clean, consistent mattes that are ready for compositing, ensuring that edge softness and motion blur are handled with meticulous detail.
• Pipeline Adherence: Working efficiently within our studio’s naming conventions and file structures to ensure that shots can be easily integrated into the broader VFX workflow.
• Collaborative Feedback: Engaging with supervisors and compositors to refine mattes based on feedback, ensuring that the final output perfectly serves the needs of the shot.
• Time Management: Successfully managing your workload to meet deadlines while maintaining the high standard of accuracy that our clients expect.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for artists who are committed to the craft of rotoscoping and possess the discipline to deliver great work consistently. Candidates should have:

• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in rotoscoping for VFX or a similar creative field.
• Tooling Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of industry-standard software such as Silhouette, Nuke, Mocha, or other industry-standard rotoscoping tools.
• Attention to Detail: A highly developed eye for edges, motion paths, and continuity. You must be able to spot tiny inaccuracies that could break the illusion of a shot.
• Technical Discipline: A solid understanding of how mattes are used in a compositing pipeline and why accuracy is essential for a seamless final product.
• Adaptability: The ability to work effectively in either a remote or studio-based environment, remaining communicative and responsive as a member of our global team.

Employment Terms

• Experience Required: Minimum of 1 year in professional VFX rotoscoping.
• Work Model: This role is available as either Remote or Studio-based (as applicable), providing flexibility for the right talent.
• Compensation: We offer a competitive salary range of ₹3 LPA – ₹5 LPA, based on your experience and skill set.
