Redefine Originals is expanding its world-class creative team in Hyderabad and is currently seeking a highly skilled and passionate Lighting Lead (CG – Unreal Engine) to join our studio. Role Overview

As a Lighting Lead, you will be at the forefront of our real-time and CG workflows. This role is designed for a visionary artist who possesses deep technical expertise in Unreal Engine and a sophisticated understanding of cinematic lighting. You will lead a talented team of artists, setting the creative bar, driving technical innovation, and ensuring that every frame we produce meets our studio’s high standards for visual fidelity and narrative impact.

Job Summary : Lighting Lead

Key Responsibilities

• Creative Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of lighting artists to deliver exceptional visual results that align with the creative vision of the directors and art department.
• Pipeline Innovation: Leverage deep expertise in Unreal Engine to develop and refine lighting workflows. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between traditional CG lighting techniques and real-time engine capabilities.
• Technical Excellence: Oversee the lighting and lookdev process for complex assets and environments. You will ensure that lighting setups are optimized for performance while maintaining the artistic intent required for high-fidelity interactive or cinematic media.
• Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors, production managers, and other department leads to plan production tasks, provide accurate estimates, and troubleshoot technical bottlenecks.
• Quality Control: Maintain high standards of quality throughout the production cycle, conducting regular dailies to guide your team in achieving consistent and compelling visual results.
• Mentorship: Foster a culture of learning and development, providing constructive feedback to junior and mid-level artists to help them grow their technical and artistic skill sets.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a seasoned professional with a robust background in CG lighting and a proven track record of leadership in a professional studio environment. To be successful in this role, you should possess:

• Experience: A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in CG lighting, preferably within high-end feature film, episodic, or premium interactive projects.
• Technical Proficiency: Mastery of Unreal Engine is essential. You should have a deep understanding of lighting tools, material systems, post-processing volumes, and engine optimization for real-time rendering.
• Artistic Foundation: A strong artistic eye for color, light, shadow, composition, and mood. You should be able to translate complex creative concepts into technical lighting setups that support the narrative.
• Leadership Skills: Experience leading teams, managing production deadlines, and communicating creative direction effectively.
