Role Overview
The Project Manager at KoalaFX is responsible for translating high-level creative and production decisions into actionable, day-to-day plans. You will coordinate with producers and supervisors to understand the project’s vision, break down tasks, allocate resources, and monitor progress. Your role is essential in ensuring that each phase of the VFX pipeline—from concept to final delivery—is executed efficiently, transparently, and within budget.
This position requires a combination of meticulous planning, clear communication, and adaptability. You will not only manage schedules and budgets but also act as a problem-solver, foreseeing potential bottlenecks and proactively implementing solutions. You will supervise production coordinators, ensuring that every team member has the clarity, tools, and support needed to perform at their best.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee VFX Production: Lead the production of visual effects, ensuring each project meets or exceeds quality expectations while staying within budget and time constraints. Monitor each stage of production and collaborate with supervisors to resolve any creative or technical challenges.
Schedule and Resource Management: Create, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules. Allocate resources effectively across departments, balancing workload and timelines. Adjust plans dynamically to accommodate unforeseen challenges or client changes.
Team Communication: Act as the central point of contact between producers, supervisors, artists, and technical directors. Facilitate smooth communication, ensuring that all team members are aligned on goals, deadlines, and priorities.
Track Progress and Delivery: Monitor the progress of individual shots and sequences throughout the VFX pipeline. Track milestones, review deliverables, and ensure timely completion while maintaining transparency with stakeholders.
Budget Oversight: Keep close track of project budgets, identifying potential risks, and proposing solutions to stay on target. Ensure all financial decisions align with the creative and operational goals of the project.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with VFX artists, technical directors, coordinators, and supervisors to understand the complexities of each shot and sequence. Facilitate collaboration and provide clarity to support the team’s creative output.
Client and Supervisor Coordination: Translate client briefs and feedback into actionable tasks. Adapt schedules and workflows to accommodate notes or changes, ensuring smooth communication between clients, producers, and the creative team.
Foster a Positive Work Environment: Inspire, motivate, and support the team to achieve their best work. Promote a culture of collaboration, respect, and innovation across all departments.
Quality Control: Ensure that all VFX deliverables meet the studio’s high-quality standards before submission. Conduct thorough reviews of shot lists, breakdowns, and final outputs.
Problem Solving and Adaptability: Anticipate production challenges and proactively implement solutions. Adapt workflows and strategies as needed to maintain project momentum and meet deadlines.

Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience in VFX production management, project management, or production supervision.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage complex schedules.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Knowledge of VFX software, pipelines, and production workflows is a plus.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to anticipate issues and proactively address them.
