The Role: The Foundation of VFX Excellence

The Paint and Prep department is the invisible backbone of visual effects. Your work ensures that every frame of our footage is clean, professional, and ready for integration. As a Paint / Prep Artist at Hybrid Studio, you will handle complex tasks that require both an aesthetic eye and a high degree of technical patience.

Core Responsibilities:

• Frame-by-Frame Perfection: Execute clean-up and paint tasks, including rig removal, wire removal, and plate preparation. You will be responsible for ensuring that the final output is flawless and matches the artistic intent of the director.
• Technical Mastery: Utilize industry-standard software to manipulate footage with precision. You will be expected to maintain plate integrity while executing complex patches, cloning, and projection techniques.
• Collaboration: Partner closely with other VFX departments—including Compositing, Roto, and Matchmove—to ensure a seamless transition of assets through our pipeline.
• Quality Control: Maintain an uncompromising standard for quality. Your attention to detail will ensure that no artifacts or technical flaws detract from the final visual narrative.
• Workflow Optimization: Continuously look for ways to improve our prep pipelines, contributing to a studio culture that values efficiency without sacrificing artistic quality.

Candidate Requirements:

• Professional Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience in a dedicated Paint/Prep or Roto/Paint role within the VFX industry.
• Technical Precision: A sharp eye for detail. You must be able to identify and resolve issues that might escape the casual observer, maintaining perfect continuity across shots.
• Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of standard industry tools (e.g., Photoshop, Silhouette, Nuke, or similar prep-focused software).
• Passion for VFX: A genuine enthusiasm for the craft. We want artists who are excited to tackle complex technical challenges and who take deep pride in the “hidden” work that makes a film shine.
