What You Will Work On: Studio Projects
At Rural Games, we believe that interns learn best by contributing to real, active studio workflows. You will not be tucked away in a corner; you will be an integral part of our marketing division, producing promotional material that reaches thousands of potential players.
Your creative efforts will directly support our current flagship titles:
- Platform 13: A terrifying, atmospheric psychological horror experience designed to keep players on the edge of their seats with tense, gripping visuals.
- Zero Drag: An action-packed, open-world crime game built for high-speed thrills, dynamic action sequences, and high-octane chases.
Your core focus will be Visual Storytelling and Promotional Content Creation, capturing the essence of our games and translating it into breathtaking video assets.
What You Will Do: Day-to-Day Responsibilities
As our Video Editor Internship participant, your day-to-day activities will be dynamic, creative, and fast-paced. You will be responsible for:
- Trailer & Teaser Production: Transform raw gameplay footage, developer interviews, and cinematic shots into high-impact trailers and teaser clips.
- Short-Form Content Creation: Craft engaging vertical video clips optimized for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels to capture viral traction.
- Color Grading & Styling: Color grade video footage meticulously to match the distinct aesthetic and cinematic style of each individual game.
- Audio & Sound Design: Seamlessly sync audio tracks, music beds, and sound effects to elevate the emotional impact and pacing of your edits.
- Strategy Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to brainstorm new content angles, video structures, and campaign rollouts.
Who We Are Looking For: Candidate Criteria
We are looking for creative visionaries with a sharp eye for detail and a deep understanding of rhythm, tone, and digital media trends.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proficiency in industry-standard editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro.
- A strong, intuitive sense of visual pacing, timing, and narrative flow.
- Familiarity with basic motion graphics and text animations.
- An innate understanding of modern social media video trends and consumer attention spans.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Prior experience editing gaming content, let’s-plays, or gaming montages.
- Basic audio mixing and balancing skills.
- Familiarity with Photoshop or similar tools for eye-catching thumbnail creation.
- Advanced motion graphics capabilities using Adobe After Effects.
