Primary Roles & Responsibilities

The role of a CFX Artist at the Mid to Senior level requires a deep understanding of the nuance of movement. You are responsible for the secondary motions that make a character feel “real” in a digital space.

• High-Fidelity Simulation: You will design and create a wide variety of realistic visual effects and simulations. This includes, but is not limited to, character cloth, hair, fur, muscle systems, skin sliding, and other complex character-related deformations.

• Pipeline Integration: Ensuring the seamless integration of character effects into the overall VFX pipeline is paramount. You will work to maintain both the artistic and technical direction of the project, ensuring that CFX elements interact correctly with animation and lighting.

• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: You will collaborate closely with the VFX Supervisor, the Animation Team, and Rigging departments to ensure the character’s performance is supported by your simulations.

• Feedback Implementation: In a high-stakes production environment, you will revise simulations based on client and supervisor feedback in a timely and efficient manner.
