Job Overview : 3D Animator

The Role: Breathing Life Into Motion

As a 3D Animator at Haika Studios, you are the engine behind our characters’ emotions. You are responsible for taking static models and transforming them into expressive, fluid entities that drive our cinematic narratives forward. This is a role for an artist who loves to experiment, refine, and push the boundaries of what is possible within a 3D space.

• Cinematic Animation: You will be responsible for animating a diverse range of assets, from hero characters and mythical creatures to detailed environment interactions and complex props. Your work will form the backbone of our cinematic sequences.

• Creative Collaboration: We value the “team-first” approach. You will work closely with our art and design departments to ensure that every frame of animation serves the broader creative vision of the project.

• Polishing & Refinement: We are obsessed with the details. You will be responsible for taking your initial blocks and polishing them to achieve maximum emotional impact. Whether it’s the subtle drag of a cloak or the intensity of a character’s gaze, you will ensure every detail is refined to perfection.

• Narrative Experimentation: We encourage our animators to be experimental. We want you to try new techniques, challenge conventional animation workflows, and find innovative ways to enhance our storytelling through movement.

Who You Are

We are looking for an animator who understands that great animation is about the why as much as the how.

• Blender Expert: You live and breathe Blender. We are a proud Blender-based studio, and we are looking for someone who knows the software inside and out—from the dope sheet to the graph editor and everything in between.
• The Principles of Motion: You have a rock-solid grasp of the fundamental principles of animation. Timing, weight, anticipation, and follow-through are second nature to you. You understand how to make a character feel heavy, light, fast, or melancholic through motion alone.
• Adaptable & Indie-Minded: We move fast and dream big. You are comfortable working in an indie studio environment where agility and adaptability are keys to success. You aren’t afraid to step outside of your comfort zone to help the team solve a creative hurdle.
• Artistic Vision: You possess a strong eye for composition and pacing. You understand how animation contributes to the overall “feel” of a project and you are always looking for ways to elevate the visual quality of your shots.
