The Role: Defining the Visual Horizon
As our FX Supervisor, you will be the bridge between art direction and technical implementation. Your primary responsibility is to define the FX pipeline, establish production standards, and ensure that every element—from the subtle flickers of magic to grand-scale destruction—aligns with the studio’s aesthetic vision. You will not only supervise the creation of effects at both the asset and shot levels but also serve as a technical architect, building the reusable libraries and template systems that will define our production efficiency for years to come.
Working in a high-octane, collaborative environment, you will be deeply integrated with our Lighting, Environment, and CFX departments. Seamless integration is at the heart of our pipeline; therefore, your ability to coordinate across disciplines to maintain visual consistency and performance optimization will be vital. You will also be the go-to person for troubleshooting complex artistic and technical hurdles in a real-time environment, ensuring that the team remains productive and inspired, even under tight production schedules.
The Technical & Artistic Mix
At Dwarf Animation Studio, we leverage the power of both Houdini and Unreal Engine. We are looking for an individual who possesses a rare balance of artistic timing and technical rigor. You must be comfortable pushing the limits of Niagara and complex shader development while balancing high-end visual quality with the demands of real-time performance.
Whether it is simulating water, fire, or intricate magical phenomena, you will guide your team through the nuances of lookdev and final rendering. Your work will directly influence the narrative impact of our film, making this a role where your technical expertise meets the soul of our storytelling.
Who We Are Looking For
We invite applications from professionals who have a proven track record as an FX Supervisor or Lead in animation, feature film VFX, or high-end game cinematics. You are a mentor at heart, possessing the leadership skills to support, train, and challenge our artists to exceed their own potential.
Core Competencies:
Expertise in Houdini & Unreal Engine: Proficiency in Niagara, shader development, and baked simulations is mandatory.
Artistic Vision: You possess a sophisticated eye for timing, motion, and style.
Pipeline Building: Experience in designing modular, reusable FX libraries is a significant advantage.
Communication: As we operate in a bilingual studio environment, strong communication skills in English are required. The ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is essential.

Contract & Details
This is a full-time, customary fixed-term position starting in October 2025. We offer a competitive salary range of €65,000 to €85,000 per year, commensurate with your experience and the strategic value you bring to the production.
