This internship offers hands-on experience in game development, allowing you to contribute to the creation of rich and detailed environments while learning industry workflows and techniques.

Role Overview

As a 3D Environment Artist Intern, you will actively contribute to the development of environment assets and scenes for our games. You will work closely with senior artists and the artistic director to deliver visually stunning, optimized, and functional environments.

This role is designed for aspiring environment artists who are passionate about world building, eager to learn, and ready to work in a collaborative, production-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality environment assets including props, buildings, landscapes, and other scene elements.

  • Work with Blender, ZBrush, and Substance Painter to sculpt, texture, and optimize models for real-time use in games.

  • Ensure proper UV mapping and texture application for optimized in-game performance.

  • Collaborate with concept artists, level designers, and other team members to ensure environments match creative direction.

  • Follow production workflows and adhere to technical specifications for asset creation.

  • Maintain asset organization with clean file structure and naming conventions.

  • Incorporate feedback from leads and supervisors to refine assets and environments.

  • Troubleshoot problems and propose creative solutions during production.

  • Ensure assets meet both artistic quality and technical performance requirements.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Good technical knowledge of Blender for modeling and scene creation.

  • Proficiency in ZBrush for sculpting high-quality detail.

  • Experience with Substance Painter for texturing realistic and stylized environments.

  • Understanding of UV unfolding, proper texture mapping, and material creation for real-time engines.

  • Skilled in optimized modeling techniques to ensure performance without sacrificing visual quality.

  • Strong understanding of game art pipelines and production workflows.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under production deadlines.

  • Creativity and inventiveness in solving artistic and technical challenges.

  • Self-motivation and eagerness to learn new tools, techniques, and software.

  • Attention to detail and a critical eye for quality.

  • Professionalism and punctuality, respecting deadlines and production methods defined by leads and the artistic director.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Knowledge of the Unity game engine.

  • Familiarity with French and/or English for better team communication.

  • Experience in environment layout and scene composition.

  • Interest in optimization for performance without losing visual fidelity.
