Detailed Responsibilities

1. Artistic Strategy & Visual Development

  • Ownership of Quality: Assume full responsibility for the project’s graphic quality, ensuring a cohesive and premium look across all platforms.

  • Conceptual Innovation: Collaborate with producers on complex tasks, such as finding new visual solutions and developing concepts for future gameplay layers.

  • Artistic “Eye”: Maintain a trained eye for isometry, shapes, and volumes, providing expert-level feedback on rendering and character design.

2. Team Leadership & People Growth

  • Mentorship: Participate in the evaluation and professional development of art specialists, identifying high-potential talent within the team.

  • Team Assessment: Provide constructive, high-level feedback to artists, helping them bridge the gap between “good” and “world-class.”

  • Recruitment Support: Help shape the future of the art department by participating in the hiring and vetting of senior art talent.

3. Pipeline & Process Optimization

  • Workflow Efficiency: Participate in the formation and refinement of efficient processes within the art team to ensure speed without compromising quality.

  • Adaptability: Implement and adapt effective production pipelines to meet the shifting needs of a live-service flagship project.

  • Trend Analysis: Keep a pulse on the global mobile game market, integrating modern graphic trends into the project where appropriate.

Requirements: The Director’s DNA

We are looking for a creative Art Director who understands that in the world of mobile games, art is not just aesthetic—it is a core driver of player retention and product success.

  • Professional Experience: 5+ years in game development, specifically within the mobile sector. Experience with high-traffic match-3 or casual projects is strongly preferred.

  • Technical Mastery: A solid casual 2D art portfolio is mandatory. You must demonstrate a high level of rendering, character design, and experience with complex illustrations.

  • Product Vision: A strong understanding of how game graphics influence product metrics and how to balance artistic quality with production constraints.

  • Constructive Feedback: Ability to spot subtle issues in graphics and provide actionable, respectful feedback that inspires rather than discourages.

  • Market Knowledge: Deep knowledge of the global mobile market and the evolving trends in casual game art.

  • Language Proficiency: You must be fluent in Russian for internal collaboration and proficient in written English for global documentation.

  3. Playrix Merch & Events: Earn internal currency for significant dates and events, redeemable at our custom merch store. We hold regular team-building meetups, hackathons, and legendary corporate parties.

  4. Professional Freedom: You can grow as an expert visionary or move into team management—we provide the support for whichever path you choose.
