About the RoleWe’re seeking a talented FX Art Lead to join our Fortnite team. You’ll be responsible for crafting world-class real-time effects and leading a team of FX artists to bring dramatic, stylized, and realistic visual experiences to life. If you have strong instincts for timing, motion, and design—alongside technical expertise in materials and real-time pipelines—this is your chance to make an impact. What You’ll Do Design & implement high-quality visual effects using Niagara, Blueprints, and Unreal Engine. Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of FX artists. Execute a range of styles, from realistic to stylized FX. Collaborate across art, design, and engineering to create cohesive experiences. Partner with external vendors to expand FX production. Drive the style and feel of Fortnite’s FX while ensuring timely delivery. What We’re Looking For Strong portfolio/reel showcasing real-time FX. Deep understanding of timing, weight, and motion in FX. Experience with AAA game titles or VFX (games/film). Proficiency in creating FX assets: models, textures, particles, shaders, and camera effects. Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5 or similar real-time pipelines is a big plus. Strong leadership and mentorship experience.
